Patio Collection + New Colors Online

disc_birdfeeder_mainDrumroll please! We’ve just added the new pieces from our Patio line to the shop, you can view all of the new pieces here.

Additionally, all products with glaze color options (i.e. most pieces in the Raw Collection) have been updated to allow our customers to purchase from our new palette. We’ve added a nifty little sidebar over the right as well that has quick links to our individual collections in the shop. Yay!

Falling for Fall

It may be 80 degrees out here in Portland, but the leaves will be turning before we know it. As a native Northwesterner, I pine for the yellows of fall and cool winds that require a warm wool sweater or perhaps a khaki trench coat. CAN’T WAIT. Until then, I get to plan for autumn to my little heart’s content. Out with (most) of the old and in with the new, I present the fall color palette of Pigeon Toe Ceramics, available at the end of September. Our new patio collection is out at the same time and a sneak peak of what is in store is available here.

Welcome to the family…

The list of stores carrying Pigeon Toe continues to grow. This week, we are pleased to welcome Century Finds, an online-only boutique of vintage and modern housewares, and Talulah, an organic skincare company on the verge of opening their flagship lifestyle store in Woodstock, New York. It is with great pride that we welcome them to the growing group of quality stores that carry our handmade works.

chimes_mainIn the next few days we will offer our readers a sneak peek at our new fall line (including the disc chimes at left) that will be available for sale at the end of September. However, savvy shoppers can get first (and exclusive) dibs on the line through Olio United during their online-only home trunk show September 1-6. The new pieces all focus on designs for indoor/outdoor applications and combine our hand-thrown porcelain with luscious leathers. Think: cups of tea on your patio wrapped in a wool sweater, watching the leaves turn. The pieces are an homage to our outdoor sanctuaries and our favorite time of year.

New Design – Kerr Votive Lantern

lantern_daylight_glowPerfect for a summer patio or an outdoor event (Midsummer wedding perhaps?), our Kerr Votive Lantern is a fun new take on a product of old. We  made a mold of a 4″ high mason jar, cast it in translucent porcelain, added black galvanized steel wire to hang and a votive, and ta da! Available here for purchase, discounts are given for buying as a set of two. I will be hanging a bunch of these in a walnut tree this September, under which my love and I will exchange vows.

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday for the street fair, we had a blast and loved talking with all of you.

Exciting new project + New retailer

web421Oh boy, we had the fabulous Alicia Carrier to our studio yesterday to shoot photos for a project I’ve been thinking about for a few weeks now. We’re a week or so away from publishing it but I will share a preview photo {above}.

We also have a new store carrying Pigeon Toe! One of my favorite Portland shops, Life and Limb, will have our tripod pots by the beginning of June for sweet succulents to make their homes in. You may recognize the shop, they were featured in the last issue of ReadyMade. Go visit them and congrats to Molly on her upcoming nuptials, mere weeks away.

Tripod Pot Army

tripod_armyHappy May! A kiln load of new work came out of the glaze fire yesterday – I had fun in my studio looking at all these spring colors and creating a Pigeon Toe army of pots in the blazing sunshine. The tripod pot is available here. Airplants to go with my ceramics coming soon to the shop. Yeah!

We’d also like to welcome Ink and Peat into the Pigeon Toe fold. A lovely home and garden shop here in Portland, Ink and Peat will be carrying these very tripod pots in sunny colors in a few weeks. We are very excited to be a part of their shop, and do go visit if you’re in the area and looking for incredible flower arrangements or unusual home decor.

New Glaze Colors!

glaze_color_chartCheck out the new additions to our glaze collection, just in time for Spring. We will soon be adding a new line of paired pieces — one each of porcelain and a matching piece in espresso-colored stoneware. We also have a new piece in our furrow collection, called the planed bowl.

New PTC+!

kb_plumage_1j_wI’m loving this tapered-leg serving bowl (called the Plumage Serving Bowl) embellished by Kelly Britton-Andreini — the sweet feathers and hint of salmon around the rim is so fresh and spring-like. The first pieces are available to ship now in our Etsy shop and we are taking prerorders in our shop for the remaining 4 of each design.

New PTC+ Items Available Tomorrow

A Sneak Preview of the Nestng Bowl Design by Alia Smith

We have the first designs by Alia Smith and Kelly Britton-Andreini coming out of a glaze fire tomorrow — the 3 new pieces by these lovely ladies are called the Nesting Bowl (by Alia), Fringe Pitcher, and Plumage Tripod Serving Bowl (both by Kelly). We are very excited about all of them and will have images and the pieces up for sale tomorrow afternoon. The image at left is a sneak preview of the Nesting Bowl design.

PTC+ is an ongoing collaborative project between Pigeon Toe Ceramics and our favorite local artists; each piece is hand-thrown and then hand-painted. Designs are sold as a limited series of 5 although each will be specially unique because of their completely handmade process.

We’d also like to welcome two online shops into the Pigeon Toed fold — Fey Handmade will be carrying pieces from the Askew and Raw collection online out of New Jersey, and Small Stump, based in California, will be carrying a selection of our planters with exclusive glaze combinations for their lovely arrangements. These stores will have their first pieces in stock in about three weeks! Three cheers!
