Collections & Special Projects
Our process harks back to an older era when machines weren’t available to do the ‘heavy lifting’ of production. Each and every piece that comes out of our studio bears the mark of the human hand – each thrown on the wheel and carefully nursed by us to their finished state. Working predominately in porcelain, the fickle but most lovely clay body around, we craft beautiful, modern and affordable heirloom dishware with a story.

Striae
A playful new lighting collection made of unglazed porcelain. Slipcast from hand-thrown designs for ultimate translucency, these pieces utilize varying surface heights to make subtle patterns from shadows.
Patio
An homage to our outdoor sanctuaries and our favorite time of year. We combine luscious leathers and oxidized wire with our hand-thrown porcelain for truly unique indoor / outdoor pieces.
Raw
Raw porcelain when high fired has the texture and heft of a polished river rock. We leave areas of these pieces unglazed to expose that texture, and contrast it with an array of glaze colors.
Askew
Pieces are altered and skewed post-creation to form gently asymmetrical shapes, then covered in a foodsafe clear gloss glaze.

Special Projects
Lovejoy Light Fixtures
A collaboration between Pigeon Toe Ceramics and Fix Studio. We fabricated (hand thrown on the wheel and then manipulated) the porcelain shades for pendant lights that now hang in Lovejoy Bakery. The shades were then airbrushed with a satin glaze to give a powder coated finish. You can purchase these lights here.
PTC+
PTC+ is an ongoing collaborative project between Pigeon Toe Ceramics and our favorite local women artists. Designs are sold as a limited series, each being individually unique because of their completely handmade process. Below work by (in order) Alyson Graves, Kelly Britton-Andreini, and Alia Smith.
